This foundation was established in 1995 with the aim of contributing to social education. We subsidize the training of assistant curators for museums and social education activities for young people, and also operate the Kamei Museum which houses valuable collections.
Our museum exhibits around 14,000 butterflies of approximately 4,000 species from the collection that Bunzo Kamei, the third president of Kamei Corporation, collected from around the world over a period of 60 years. Traditional Tohoku region Kokeshi dolls, including valuable pre-WWII Kokeshi, collected by Shogo Kamei, senior advisor to Kamei Corporation, are also displayed. The museum includes representative paintings by modern and current era Japanese artists as well.

From beginners playing catch for the first time to children dreaming of becoming pros, everyone can enjoy this fun parent and child baseball clinic, which is held every summer vacation and taught by professional baseball players. |
This under-15 tournament began in 1978 out of our desire to promote soccer in the Tohoku region. As many participants have gone on to become professional players, taking part in this tournament has become an aspiration for youth soccer players in the Tohoku region. |
This golf clinic is held with the goal of fostering junior golfers in Miyagi Prefecture. By inviting Hidemasa Hoshino, a professional golfer from Miyagi, and other guest professionals, we teach participants - from elementary school students in the lower grades to high school students - how to enjoy golf. |
This foundation was established in 1981 to provide scholarships and educational loans to Japanese and international students of graduate schools, universities, high schools, technical institutes and nursing schools. To date, we have supported a total of 3,482 students (as of August 2023). |
Kamei Corporation donated 100 million yen to Shiogama City to help nurture young people for the next generation, and the city used these funds to establish the Kamei Kids Dream Foundation. This foundation started its first overseas training project, targeting junior high students, to foster young people with increased international awareness. |
In 1976, third president Bunzo Kamei, together with volunteers, established a social welfare corporation called “Yasuragi-kai.” The organization is dedicated to providing local welfare services for the elderly, including operation of a special care home for the elderly “Furoen,” a group home “Yasuragi,” and “Naruse Helper Station.” |
OISCA is an NGO that promotes the recruitment of technical trainees, the dispatch of technicians, and the development of communities and young people in developing countries, as well as international exchange and development education activities with the aim of advancing industrial and personnel development in developing countries. In 2013, as part of our activities to commemorate the 110th anniversary of our establishment, we began activities to build and maintain local forests. With the signing of a Forestry Maintenance Agreement and a Naming Rights Agreement with Miyagi Prefecture, we began our activities in the prefectural forest adjacent the Minamikawa Dam and surrounding the Nanatsumori area of Taiwa-cho, Miyagi Prefecture. Through tree-planting, thinning, weeding, path building and generally developing and maintaining the forest, we have been able to contribute to the promotion of global environmental conservation while at the same time providing a familiar place of refreshment and relaxation for the people of this region. 【Kamei Forest Miyagi – Outline】
